With my new job / placement coming up, I've noticed I'm lacking in the workwear department of my wardrobe. This may or may not have something to do with the fact that comfort is key for me and I also have this pre-conception that workwear looks boring. I've been pinning and stalking instagrams over the past few weeks to gain some inspiration. I also wanted to take into consideration that I could wear these items casually too, therefore picking more staple wardrobe pieces that could easily be mixed and matched with my existing collection.
Cord Trousers - COS
I have wanted corduroy trousers for the longest time but I can never find a pair that fit or suit me. This cos pair are super masculine and dreamy.
T-shirt Dress - &Other Stories
This dress actually featured in my previous wishlist post (guilty), but after recently popping into the Regent Street store I noticed this colour. It's more my cup of tea and I wouldn't have the fear of spilling something down a white dress!
Oversized Shirt - COS
I think this is the point where I confess that at 20 years old I don't own a white shirt. I know, I'm ashamed to admit it, but I have this misconception that it just looks like ill-fitting school uniform, and I just can't shake that image from my head. On the other hand this cos piece is making me go all heart eyes, especially with the cape style back.
Cord Dress - COS
More cord?! Yes more cord, it's coming up to Autumn (did I actually just say that word?), it's allowed. Corduroy is a material that comes back every year and always looks good. Well done cos for this boxy long sleeved dress, it's a winner.
Dr Martens - ASOS
What wishlist is complete without a pair of Dr Martens? I've been a fan for years and I'm pretty sure everyone and their moms are too. After Leanne Woodful posted the link to these on her twitter, I haven't stopped thinking about these chunky, grungey boots.
Suede Wedges - Whistles
Although here in Britain summer is coming to an end (because the UK sucks) I still can't stop dreaming about these gorgeous suede wedges from Whistles. Numerous bloggers own these and I don't blame them because they're just so bloody nice!
p.s Congrats if you made it this far!
Bleached Denim - Pull and Bear
Check Vans - TK Maxx
Comfort is key while I'm at home over the holidays, away from uni and work; the only issue is that I tend to wear the same things day in day out, as it's not exactly fashion forward round here in the countryside. Last week I wanted to give my new jeans a spin (is that the correct term?). I picked them up in the Pull and Bear sale whilst in Barcelona. They'd been on my mind since seeing them full price but couldn't justify another piece of denim in my wardrobe (stupid I know) but after finding them for 7.99€, I couldn't leave them behind.
The rest of the outfit is pretty casual but I felt pretty good in it, and that's what fashion is all about right? Feelin' and lookin' good!
If you follow me on instagram, you'll know that I went to Barcelona at the end of July so I wanted to share some of the many photos I took while I was there. Now I don't go to Europe very often, as a family we normally stick to UK holidays which has usually been just as exciting. Since starting University and having the opportunity to go on more trips, it has given me the insight into more countries and cultures; actually making me more determined to see more of the world we live on.
It was a trip that consisted of myself, my best friend (@sophiect_), my sister (@emily_fearne), my sisters best friend (@lssdlr_) and my mom (@oldpostoffice). We all had an amazing time and visited so many places. The whole trip was completely overwhelming and I can't believe I've visited a place that's been on my bucket list for years. I'd definitely love to go back and I'm excited to see where my next trip takes me! If you want any recommendations or info on where we went or where we stayed, then just give me an email, or message me on any of my social media platforms; all of which are on the left hand side!
Enjoy! C x
CDG Play Top - Depop (here)
Shorts - Topshop (similar here)
Tote - Margaret Howell
Back at it again with the white vans! Well not again as they're new, but you should never miss the opportunity to share a 'good' pun. These vans are actually the latest purchase in my trainer collection. Now I didn't go out with the intentions on buying new shoes (although in my head I knew I wanted some) so when I came across these Slip On Vans for £20 in TK Maxx I was taken by surprise. White on white check is perfect for summer and I already know they're going to become a firm favourite in my shoe collection.
As I wanted to give the shoes a spin, I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit pretty simple and I don't think you can get more simple than this. A CDG play tee to add a tiny bit of red and a a a pair of cross over D-ring shorts from Topshop. It kept me pretty cool in the sun whilst still feeling cool about myself (always a bonus when summer dressing and where has that sun gone now?).
